This is a from I book I am writing on dealing with fears. This is Chapter One, Discover Your Gold Mine.
We carry a gold mine with us all day long. It is at our disposable whenever we want to access it. Would your day have been different if you knew you had a gold mine with you? Our gold mine is our sub-conscious mind. It never sleeps, it does not judge and has no ego. It oversees our organs. It is what keeps us breathing at night. It never sleeps. The sub-conscious mind is our imagination, our intuition. It is what is aligned with God, Infinite Intelligence or the Universe.
Our mind has two spheres: the conscious and sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind is our ego. It is that chatter that we hear in our head all day long. Most of the chatter is negative. It is the sphere of our human mind that sees life as it is. It sees death, disaster, sickness, and limitation. It is that voice in your head that says: “You really think you can be successful? You are not good enough.” The conscious mind rules logic, judgement, and reason.
The conscious mind is the “Gate” to the sub-conscious mind. Whatever your conscious mind chooses to believe and focus on, the sub-conscious mind will accept it and bring it to pass. This is fantastic news because you can choose your thoughts. You can choose thoughts of limitation, fear of failure, fear of poverty, or fear of being alone. Or, you can choose thoughts of love, happiness, or abundance. This is your gold mind because if you learn to control your thoughts, you can change your life. Your mind does not control you.
Have you ever had a problem to think about before you went to sleep at night and in the morning, you knew the answer. This happens to me if I lose something. I will think about it before I go to sleep and in the morning, I know exactly where to find it. This is your sub-conscious mind at work during the night. It is open to a source much greater than ourselves. It is our Infinite Intelligences.
Your sub-consious mind it the book of your life. You have the power to rewrite the blueprint of you mind. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Man is what he thinks about all day long.” This is one of the most important principals to conquering your fears. You can and will learn to expect the best.
The conscious mind is the mind of the body. It remembers all our victories and our failures in this lifetime. It sees restriction. The conscious mind grows old and dislikes change. That is our ego. The sub-conscious mind is the mind of spirit. It sees endless possibilities. It has no limitations because it is aligned with God.
Think of a garden. It is filled with beautiful flowers, but, sometimes weeds grow in your garden. You have the power to water the seeds of peace, harmony, love and health in your garden. Also, the power to pull out any weeds. By learning to control your thoughts, you can reap a harvest and control your fears to move confidently in life. You can pull out the weeds of fear and limitation.
“By first becoming aware of my thoughts, I can learn to control them.”
What would you like to bring into your life? What flowers would you like to water and grow? Write down three things you would like to bring into your life.
What weeds would you like to pull out of your life? Write down three fears you would like to remove from your life.
During the day, when your thoughts become fearful, try to remember the three “flowers” you would like. Imagine the happy ending or solution to your fears.
Remember, our thoughts become things.
Affirmation – I am not my thoughts.
You are an incredible human being with many talents and excellent qualities. Our ego tries to tell us otherwise. When the ego begins go talk to you today, say today’s affirmation.
Spend a few minutes relaxing, then, get out your journal. Draw a large circle that will represent your mind. Draw lines from the circle and write some thoughts from your day. What was your mind telling you today? Were the thoughts mainly positive or negative? If there were negative thoughts, write a positive thought next to it. Remember we are beginning to program our sub-conscious mind with thoughts of possibilities.
What could you have done differently today to control your thoughts? Did you remember to use your affirmation?
Do not be hard on yourself, change will take patience and time. First comes awareness and then change.
Pick one positive thought and write it on an index card. Put it next to your pillow. Before you go to sleep tonight, silently say it to yourself.
Expect the best!
Happy New Year! In numerology, 2016 was a nine year. A nine year is a year of endings and completions. 2017 is a one year. A year of new beginnings. Are you ready for some new beginnings? I feel that 2016 was a difficult year for a lot of people. It is tough to watch friends or family members suffer through adversity. In my own experience, it brought many endings and many challenges. But, though challenges, we grow stronger and maybe some of those challenges prepared us for the new year and new beginnings.
What do you want to bring into the new year and what do you want to leave behind? This is a question that you may want to spend some time really thinking about this holiday. Try the following four steps to clarify your intentions and to feel gratitude for 2016.
1. Today, get out your journal and spend some time reviewing 2016. Sit in a quiet spot and reflect on the past year without judgment. Try answering some of these questions;
a. What was the most significant thing that happened in your life in 2016?
b. List one joy and one sorrow that you experienced this year.
c. What is the greatest thing you learned this year?
d. What are you most thankful for this year?
2. Next, list what you want to leave behind in 2016. What is getting in the way of living the life you want? If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
3. Light a candle and say a prayer of gratitude for 2016. Let a feeling of gratitude permeate your whole being. Now, leave 2016 behind, except for the lessons you learned.
4. Then, make a list of what you would like to manifest in 2017. Be very clear with your intentions. Write them in a positive form and believe the Universe will help you. God wants us to live happy, abundant lives. Commit to yourself that this year you will listen to your inner guidance and follow it. At the top of your list write, “This or something better will manifest in 2017!” Say that out loud and believe it in your soul. Whenever doubt or fear sets in, go back to your intentions.
Thank you for allowing me into your lives. I wish you much peace and happiness in the New Year! Commit to make it your best.
Affirmation for the New Year
“My God is a God of plenty and I now receive all that I desire or require and more.”
Miracles are seen in light. This statement is from “A Course in Miracles.” Miracles can and do occur in our life. But, we must remain in God’s light to experience the miracles.
What causes us to be in darkness? When we are filled with fear, when we are weak, and when we are doubtful, that is when we are in darkness. When we are in darkness, we are not putting our faith in God and any miracles will remain unseen. In darkness, we are putting our faith in our problems and in our fears, instead of in God.
We have the power to be strong, have faith and go to what we want. We have the power to instruct our mind and be in God’s light. That is when we walk and live in the light. God’s strength and love can become yours. Become a flashlight and remove the darkness.
We can remain in the light by quieting our minds every day. Spending at least ten minutes every day in meditation or prayer will allow you to leave your weakness behind. It will allow you to get in touch with your Inner Self that is perfectly created by God. By setting aside some quiet time, you will for a few moments, disconnect from the physical world and enter the realm where miracles occur.
Meditation will also allow you to undo any negative thoughts you may have about yourself.
I am not weak, but strong.
I am no helpless, but all powerful.
I am not limited, but unlimited.
I am not doubtful, but certain.
I cannot see in darkness, but in light.
Living in light is where we are meant to live and thrive. Turn on your flashlight and remove any darkness, that is when miracles will occur. Keep track of your miracles, write them in a journal. It will serve to remind you of God’s strength and love.

Our words carry tremendous energy and it is important to choose the words we put into the Universe carefully. Our words manifest into our lives. It takes diligence to become aware of this and to correct old habits. But, there are two words that can align you with the Divine. The two most powerful words are,” I AM.”
“I AM” is “God in Action.” When you say and feel,” I AM”, you are releasing God’s everlasting life flow into your life. Try saying this right now, “I AM unlimited.” “I AM love.” “I AM strong.”
How did that feel? By saying “I AM” you are using enormous power that is love, peace, beauty, harmony and opulence for life. Isn’t that what we all want?
I know I get stuck in a rut sometimes and do not choose my words wisely. I try to catch myself before I sink too far down and write some “I AM” affirmations. I write them down and say them out loud several times a day. I have had some amazing, wonderful experiences with the use of these two powerful words.
What is it that you would like to manifest more of in your life? Start with an “I AM” to align your thoughts with God’s Divine Energy. This is very great stuff.
The “I AM” opens the door to the tremendous love and energy of the Divine. One word of caution, you can SLAM the door shut just as easily by saying, “I AM not.” I am not prosperous. I am not well. I am not happy. This energy works both ways and that is why it is important to become aware of the words you use.
Also, be aware of saying affirmations like, “I AM sick.” You are reversing the principles of life. This is not a positive affirmation, but, it is an affirmation.
A lifetime of habits cannot be changed overnight, but, with awareness, change will begin. Think this over and start to incorporate it into your life. Keep that beautiful, powerful energy of God coming into your life.

Do you ever get frustrated with your life? Your affirmations are not working? You are doing all the right things: meditating, affirmations, visualizations and prayers and yet nothing is changing. You are still struggling with work, your health or money problems. Some days, you may give up and feel that all that positive thinking does not work. Well, I say STOP! It does work and please do not give up.
If we had perfect faith in our hearts and minds you could initiate change instantly. But, the fact remains that we have to cultivate and grow perfect faith and that may take some time. You are dealing with habits and negative thoughts that have been with you probably your entire life and that type of change takes time.
What I can tell you, is that it is absolutely worth the time and effort you are putting in to change your life. God wants us to have beautiful lives filled with love, peace, and abundance. Through our life experiences, we have learned to expect less than that. But, it is never too late to change.
I like using a garden analogy for our thoughts. We want a garden with beautiful flowers, but, we have to cultivate the garden in order to grow beautiful flowers. Negative thoughts are like weeds, we need to get rid of them and cultivate beautiful flowers with pure, positive thoughts that are filled with love. Flowers take time to grow, they need water and sunlight. Likewise, to change your life and your thoughts takes time. But, you can do it.
Sometimes before everything goes right, everything may seem to go all wrong. This is when you need to stand strong and continue your prayers, meditation and affirmations. Stay positive and get the last of those weeds out of your mind. The change you want can be right around the corner.
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”
The Dhammapada is an ancient collection of the Buddha’s teachings. In Twin Verses, the first chapter of the Dhammapada it is written, “All that we are is the result of what we have thought: we are formed and molded by our thoughts”. Affirmations are positive statements that can be repeated on a regular basis. They can be written, repeated orally or both. Affirmations help us control our thoughts. Try is this week: Affirmations Work!
James Allen in his book, “As You Thinketh”, written in 1904, states, “All that you achieve and all that you fail to achieve is the direct result of your own thoughts”.
Positive affirmations work! They can transform your life. They are simple to incorporate into your daily activities. I write down my affirmations on index cards and keep them with me all day. Or I will put them on post it notes on my mirror in the bathroom and on my desk. Put them wherever you spend time. They are constant reminders to keep thoughts positive and transforming.
Some days I may work with 10 affirmations. Other days or weeks, I may only work with one. I will write them down and read them out loud. The more you say them, the better. Try to repeat them morning and night.
3 Steps to Begin Using Affirmations
Affirmations should be written in the present tense.
Think about what you would like to change or improve in your life.
Write them on index cards or post it notes and read aloud daily.
Some examples of affirmations:
I am healthy.
I am creating my happiness
I am power and love.
I believe in myself.
I am lovable.
I am grateful for all the gifts this day will bring.
I am creative and the Universe supports me.
Change your thoughts, change your life.
What affirmations did you create?
On Valentine’s Day, I think of hearts. They are everywhere today. But, I also think about our own hearts and our own self-love. Do you follow and listen to your heart? Some days it might be easy to do, but, holding the vision can be tricky. So, how do you follow your heart? These 4 steps are the secret to following your heart.
1.The quickest way to begin is to spend some time in silence. Quiet you mind. This can be done by meditation, prayer, deep breathing, listening to beautiful music, or spending time in nature. There are countless ways, do whatever works for you. If you meditate, it does not have to be long. Five minutes in meditation will do wonders for quieting all the chatter in your mind.
You may try this one day and think, alright, I tried it and all I could think about was my busy schedule for the day. The key is, silencing the mind takes practice. Try doing one of the suggestions above for seven days straight and see if you notice a difference.
2. Now that you have your mind somewhat under control, you can begin to learn to follow your heart. After you have finished your silent time, ask yourself: “Where would you have me to go? What would you have me to do? What would you have me do today and to whom?” These questions are from “A Course in Miracles.” If you feel you have answers to these questions, get out a journal and write them down. Continue this until you feel comfortable with your answers.
3. Next write down some concrete, action steps that you can take to reach for your dreams and to follow your heart. It is okay to begin with small steps. Even small steps taken weekly is letting the Universe know that you are ready to follow your dreams and ready to listen to that small, so very wise voice that we all have inside us.
4. Do not give up. Keep that vision, that dream. Your dreams are like seeds planted in a garden. They make take time to grow. But, by taking action steps and holding your vision, you are watering that garden and someday will reap the harvest.
So you may have started the new year with determination to change your thoughts and to be more positive. You want to eliminate fear this year. How is it going? To change habits can be difficult and there are many ups and downs. But, you can develop courage by staying in the present moment.
Some days, I think, wow, I am doing so well staying positive and then someone says something critical, or a find a leak in my ceiling or it is Saturday night and I have nothing to do. These type of things or events have a way of throwing me of course. Sound familiar?
Many of our thoughts or habits have been with us a lifetime and they are not going to go away quickly. The change will be gradual. But, with awareness, you have begun the change.
You may be working with a coach, a psychologist, or doing self-discovery to change, but, these are like a match that lights the candle. You are the candle and only you can make the changes.
To change habits, stay in the present moment. Start with small, insignificant times in your day. Try really staying present while washing dishes, doing work around your home or when meeting with a friend. By staying in the moment, you gain courage and control of your thoughts.
When you are cooking, really notice and pay attention to the utensils you reach for. Spend time noticing the different colors in the meal you are preparing. Next, try this same exercise with another time in your day. When we are present, unhurried, and centered, our thoughts are not ruminating about the past or worried about the future.
These small moments will translate into larger moments. So when a crisis occurs, you will stay present with courage and calmly deal with the situation.
This week pick one time every day to slow down and stay in the present moment. Keep that candle burning with calm, happy, positive thoughts.
Small moments = Larger moments
